Description
Postdoctoral research position available immediately in the Departmentof Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology, University of Miami MillerSchool of Medicine to investigate receptor-G protein regulation ofphospholipase C signaling in vitro and in cultured cells. Our laboratoryhas shown that phospholipase C is regulated by the novel signalingphospholipid, phosphatidic acid through interaction within a definedbinding region. We wish to further delineate the binding determinantsfor phosphatidic acid and generate point mutations, which will be usedfor mechanistic studies on receptor-G protein signaling. The successfulcandidate will have research experience in molecular biology, biochemistry and cell culture, and a background in membrane-initiatedsignal transduction mechanisms. Excellent writing and communicationskills are necessary.
