Postdoctoral positions are available beginning Fall 2012 in the Life Sciences Institute at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor to study the role of membrane-type matrix metalloproteinases, MT1-MMP and MT2-MMP in regulating macrophage/dendritic cell function in vitro and in vivo (e.g., Genes & Dev, 26: 395, 2012).
The work will involve combining state-of-the-art cell and molecular biology techniques to characterize the transcriptional programs and effectors that regulate leukocyte function. The successful candidate should be a recent Ph.D. graduate or equivalent with a strong background in the use and engineering of transgenic models and a record of creativity and scientific productivity. The position will be open until filled, and consideration of applicants will begin immediately. To apply, please send a letter detailing your experience and research interests, an updated CV, and contact information for three references to: Stephen J. Weiss, M.D., sjweiss@umich.edu .
