NIH funded POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONs in the field of drug transport are available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Wei Yue in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Pharmacy at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. In these positions, the postdoctoral fellows will elucidate potential mechanism(s) involved in modulation of drug transport protein function, aiming to predict transporter-mediated drug-drug, drug-disease interactions and toxicities. Multi-disciplinary approaches are involved in the Yue research program including: 1) characterization of drug-drug interactions and pharmacokinetics of drug transport using in vitro models (e.g. cultured rat and human hepatocytes, transporter-over expressing cell lines); 2) recombinant viral vector-mediated gene transfer and RNA interference; 3) pharmacogenomic studies; and 4) molecular biology techniques. Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Cancer Research, Immunology, or a related field with peer-reviewed publication(s). Experience in cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques are required. Individuals with experience in protein post-translational modifications are particularly encouraged to apply. Competitive candidates are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills. Review of applications will begin immediately and the positions will remain open until filled. |
